Doctors removed the affected testicle, and, after missing a few weeks of offseason activities, Solder went on to start every game for the Patriots in the season. He is one of two Patriots linemen to have battled cancer: fellow Patriots draftee Marcus Cannon was diagnosed with lymphoma prior to his being drafted.
