But EE does not justify the price. I guess sadly now that I go through it I think Busch is just a much better deal for what they offer for the price. I get to go all year for paying for just one ticket. Have been to both, enjoyed them both. Doesn't really matter as they are different enough from each other, and both worth the price of admission.
But if in Tampa, and looking for a day trip, I'd recommend Busch Gardens without hesitation. Skylinecar New Member. Personally I feel they are two totally different parks and both offer great forms of entertainment. Do both. You can't lose. If you have the opportunity, definitely check out Busch Gardens!
It's a clean, well run, and very fun park to visit and is much, much different from Animal Kingdom. You should be able to easily see and do everything in one day if it's moderately crowded. A trip to Busch Gardens is a fun day and a great way to see more of Florida, outside of the Orlando area. I'd have to say Busch Gardens as well. It has a river raft ride like Kali River Rapids , a log flume ride and a tidal wave splash down ride.
It has a ride called Rhino Ralley which, if memory serves, is remotely similar to the Animal Kingdom safari ride, but slightly better. And lots of animals. They have a cable car ride, or "skyway" to put it in Disney terms. Nothing against AK, mind you. I like it, too. I just think Busch Gardens is better.
Active Member. First I need to admit that I have as yet been to AK.. But a wanted to offer my 2 cents anyway Two years ago, our family did the "other Orlando" If you like coasters and animals, then I would highly recommend Busch Gardens I forget the name of the coaster that has the 90 degree drop but my kids said that was the most intense coaster ever!
This time to Orlando, we are doing Disney, so AK is more cost effective. I am looking forward to AK for its beauty and its "Disneyness" but I do fear that the lack of thrills rides may not compare to Busch Gardens. Hope it helps, ask! Busch is a better coaster park, but other than that it's weak.
I've been there hundreds of times because it's 45 minutes from my house, but I would willingly drive the extra 45 minutes to AK because I like it better. AK for animals, theme, and overall ambiance. So AK makes me exited. They have better rides, shows, everything! I don't ride coasters, so I prefer Animal Kingdom. From steve lee Posted January 23, at AM Yeah, if you're not a coaster person the rides at BGT are pretty sparse - your options are a few uninspired flats and Rhino Rally which is a tragic shell of what it once was.
That said, Busch Gardens has done a really nice job improving some of their animal areas. I went last week and was definitely impressed with the changes. Obviously the biggest problem is that any close-up time with the animals in the Serengeti area requires paying for the truck tour.
If that was included with park admission, I think BGT would have a stronger presence in that department. From Daniel Etcheberry Posted January 23, at AM You have to pay extra money to be close to the giraffes and feed them; that's silly since there is a zoo in the same city Lowry Park Zoo where you can feed the giraffes at no extra cost; you just pay for the food itself which is cheap. It has a great view of the animals and is a fun way to get around the park.
Also love the Crown Colony house great food and great theme at this place. I'd say it's one of the better spinning mice out there. It's not very nice to walk around either. And Rhino Rally is a terrible ride. The only ride I enjoyed was Sheikra, Montu was ok but nothing special. Maybe I was looking forward to it too much.
I'm a coaster enthusiast but I'd rather walk around AK, it's just beautiful. The safari is amazing, Expedition Everest even without the working Yeti is really fun and Dinosaur is a one of my favourite dark rides it genuinely scares me. Out of the roller coasters I've been on, Sheikra aside, non of the BGT coaster's come close to my top They're coasters, they have some good things to them, but they just aren't well designed, they don't flow and feel humdrum of a ride.
It really isn't a nice park to walk around, very outdated looking with the quality of nothing more than cheap, Six Flags-esque themeing. It's a number, and that's about it. I feel the themeing is much stronger at Busch. BGT's coaster lineup is easily the best in Florida. Sheikra is world class, Montu is very good also. Kumba almost being 20 years old is still a very good coaster, I was there when it opened in and it was almost unmatched at the time Tallest vertical loop in the world at the time.
The imagineers went through painstaking effort, paying attention to every little detail to make this park look as genuine as they could. Animal Kingdom also creates a fun partylike atmosphere all the time with live music and performers around every corner of the park. While the park might be lighter on attractions, the theming and atmosphere here IS one of the attractions. Now Busch Gardens is still a nice, attractive, and clean park. It always still feels like a theme park.
On this one, the choice is easy. They both have rides and themed attractions, but they also both have animals at the heart of what they do. Now after a recent visit to both parks, this one actually surprised me.
Animal Kingdom has great animal habitats throughout the Asia and Africa parts of the park. Yes, the Animal Kingdom version is better, but Busch Gardens does do a good job here too. At Animal Kingdom though, the only way to see lots of the big animals like rhinos, elephants, and giraffes, is to wait in line for that Safari tour.
You need to get back in that long line to do it again, and some of the animals might be quite far away or hiding.
